In Kendall Yards
Veraci Pizza is one of a handful of trendy new restaurants in Kendall Yards. Every time I have been there so far I have sat out on the patio which overlooks the Spokane River and downtown Spokane. It is easily one of the best dining patios in Spokane.
I love pizza. So far I have had their Luna Rosa, Spicy Tony and Chicken Pesto pizzas. The Luna Rosa is my favorite. It features Italian dry salami, Italian Sausage, roasted red peppers, mozzarella cheese and a savory red sauce. The chicken pesto with their house-made pesto is also and outstanding pizza. Sorry, I just don't do arugula on my pizza.
Veraci makes an artisan style pizza is cooked in clay, wood fired pizza oven. The pizzas cook very quickly and have a thin crispy crust with a wood smoke flavor. I am not sure you can find a better pizza in Spokane. The Flying Goat may come real close.
Veraci Pizza has a full menu including appetizers, salads and desserts. Pizza aside, the menu item that really knocks it out of the park for me is the Caprese Plate. You'll find it under appetizers. Fresh mozzarella, vine ripened beef steak tomatoes, large fresh basil leaves, olive oil and a balsamic reduction with a kosher salt sprinkled over the top; likely the best Caprese salad I have ever had.
For the beer lovers, they have a nice selection of local craft brews on tap. I am all about the beer pairing. A G-String Blond with the Chicken Pesto, a Spin Cycle Red for the Luna Rosa and a Riverkeeper IPA for the Spicy Tony; 12 String, No Li and River City, respectively. Because they have rotating taps, you will be forced to be creative with your beer pairing. Have fun with it, I know I do.
